More Crime, Less Cops - The Lisa Brown & Betsy Wilkerson Plan
SPOKANE, WA - The Spokane Good Government Alliance has kicked off a billboard campaign to highlight Lisa Brown and Betsy Wilkerson’s “plan” to address public safety within the City of Spokane. The billboards can be found around Spokane.
“Lisa Brown and Betsy Wilkerson's record on public safety is abysmal,” said John Estey, Executive Director of the Spokane Good Government Alliance. “These billboard’s highlight one simple reality: if elected, Lisa Brown and Betsy Wilkerson, will continue to institute policies that promote more crime and fewer cops patrolling our streets”.
Spokane residents will recall Lisa Brown used grant funding at the Washington State Department of Commerce to fund an organization who bailed repeat offenders out of jail. Brown has a long history of funneling her failed congressional campaign funds to support “Defund the Police” candidates for public office and even going as far as hiring staff who support defunding the police on her Mayoral campaign.
Meanwhile, Betsy Wilkerson is applying for the wrong job. The Spokane Good Government Alliance was sent the following public record obtained via a public a records request - an email showing Council President Lori Kinnear and Council President Candidate Betsy Wilkerson flippantly claiming that they could do a better job than the Spokane Police Department.
“As if Betsy Wilkerson’s public safety record isn’t scary enough, she actually thinks that SHE could do a better job than our brave men and women in uniform. She may find crime funny but Spokane families aren’t laughing. This type of arrogance and flippancy have no place in Spokane city leadership. These billboards call attention to the results of Wilkerson’s alarming record on public safety.”
“Voters have a choice this November. There is a reason that the Spokane Police Guild did not endorse Lisa Brown, Betsy Wilkerson or anyone on their slate of radical candidates - they don’t support our hardworking police officers. Our community’s safety is on the ballot this fall. Voter’s are entitled to know their records.”
The Spokane Good Government Alliance was formed in 2019 to advocate for a balanced local government that best serves the Citizens of Spokane. To learn more, please visit our website here: spokanegoodgovernmentalliance.com.
